Roe Major is a Brooklyn born- Bronx Native who was born to entertain the masses. Also known as Nick Nicklez, he is an American rapper and producer best known for his first single “Flash That Money” which was featured on Block Entertainment’s mixtape Bad Boy South. In the spring of 2010 Roe Major was featured on the mixtape: Prepare for Impact featuring King Lbs, and Tap Stone of M.E. Entertainment. He is set to release a solo mixtape labeled Bombing Season fall of 2013. His first album American Graffitti is targeted for completion winter of 2015.

Roe is a believer that the music business is in a dark place right now. Small budgets and lackluster talent leave label execs looking for the next ring tone, catchy hook, or YouTube phenomenon in order to make money. With confidence that he will transcend where his peers fall short, Roe plans to direct his energy into breaking the misconception that the art of hip-hop is dying. Teamed up with artist from various genres of music from hardcore rap, rock, reggae and even pop- he’s not afraid to showcase his skills on any level.

Raised by his single mother in his hometown of the Bronx , the soundtrack to his sound began to take character. Roe started rapping at the age of 14 when he became a fan of Ready to Die by the late B.I.G. This album was the switch that opened his mind to the harsh reality of life through music. By listening to Biggie Smalls, Jay Z, Nas and DMX, he began to learn the fundamentals of writing hip-hop music. He became entranced in the bravado of drums, snares, and kicks, loving not only the storytelling behind the music but the beat airing through the speakers. Soon after, he had notebook after notebook filled with his own life chronicles. Using any opportunity he could to write, he became passionate on honing his skills.

Ready to go to the next level he started recording an album. Soon he discovered that recording costs and managing an album were too much money. He tired of engineers claiming he couldn’t get a good sound with a low budget so, he enrolled in IAR, The Institute for Audio Research, and learned how to record and mix on his own. Soon after he turned an extra bedroom in his apartment into a personal recording studio and joined alliance with another IAR graduate Terrance Lewis, nicknamed 4.0 because of his grade point average in school. Together the dual recorded and developed most of Roe Majors finest projects and what is now American Graffiti.

Many songs on his latest project, like “Live and Learn” are testimonies to his upbringing in which he realizes that everyone is human and people make mistakes. Knowing this, he tells his father in the lyrics: Thanks dad for the love and the insight but had to do a couple of wrongs to get this thing right.

With such a diverse execution of his art, the industry is sure to use a permanent marker to write his name. With his album American Graffiti (That not a typo you find out why in the album) he hopes to bring his love for music and art together and change the way music is presented and heard around the world. Making graffiti a household name for art- Roe finds his graffiti is his music…
